Step-by-Step Guide to Remove Oracle 23ai from Windows

Environment: Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Oracle Database: 23ai Description: Uninstalling Oracle Database 23ai Free is required when you want to install Oracle Database 26ai Free and no longer need Oracle 23ai on your machine. Below is the step-by-step guide to remove Oracle Database 23ai Free completely from the Windows operating system. You can remove Oracle Database 26ai Free using the Command Prompt or directly from the ORACLE_HOME location. Please note that After removal Oracle Database Free, including its database files and the listener, will no longer be available for use. You don't have to stop the database and services, Installation Wizard will stop and remove everything.  Method 1: Directly from ORACLE_HOME If you want to remove it from ORACLE_HOME, then go to ORACLE_HOME location and locate "setup.exe" file. Right click on "setup.exe" file and click on "Run as administrator". One pop-up box will be appeared on your screen and it will prompt you "YES" or "NO". Click on "YES" to continue. Then actual GUI console screen will be appeared to remove the software. OR Method 2: From cmd prompt Step 1: Right click on cmd and click on "Run as administrator" option. Step 2: Go to ORACLE_HOME location and list the directories. Step 3: Type "setup.exe", below screen will be appeared. Step 4: Click on "Remove" option to continue. This will take some time to remove software. Step 5: Finally, click on "FInish" option to finish the Software Removal activity.
